Chosen course on Bachelor in Tourism Management
4th semester, fall
Basic knowledge of tourism planning and destination development.
This course will introduce the students to impacts tourism have on destinations; economic, environmental and socio-cultural. The emphasis will be on local perspectives mainly in developing countries.
Lecturing and assignments.
The students should be able to understand, analyse and reflect upon the dilemmas the tourism industry may introduce to vulnerable destinations hence to especially environmental and socio-cultural impacts. They should also be able to take this knowledge into consideration when developing tourism products and destinations.
Individual written exam, 5 hours. The grades range from A-F where A is the best and F is fail.
Will be presented in the beginning of the semester.
